Payroll & Benefits Specialist
Rocklin Hybrid Opportunity
$34.00 - $39.00 per Hour

Ledgent Accounting & Finance is partnering with a well-established organization in the Rocklin area to identify a Payroll & Benefits Specialist. This position is responsible for the accurate processing of payroll, administration of employee benefits, payroll tax reporting, reconciliations, and employee support.

Key Responsibilities:
* Process and audit payroll transactions including salary changes, benefits deductions, garnishments, direct deposits, and tax withholdings
* Review and reconcile timesheets, ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance
* Serve as the primary contact for payroll and benefits-related employee inquiries
* Coordinate payroll activities related to new hires, terminations, pay adjustments, and life events
* Prepare payroll tax filings and deposits
* Post payroll journal entries and perform related account reconciliations
* Reconcile benefit invoices and payroll records, researching and resolving discrepancies
* Process off-cycle payroll and final paychecks as needed
* Support employee onboarding and benefits communication efforts

Qualifications:
* 3-4+ years of payroll administration experience
* 2+ year of benefits administration experience
* Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience with HRIS and electronic timekeeping systems; UKG/ADP experience preferred
* Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills

Preferred:
* Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
